URGENT – Call to BARC Members to Conserve Power Today
Outage Update – As of 9 a.m. today, BARC currently has around 100 members off. A majority of the outage is in Rockbridge County. Crews are out and working safely to help restore power to these members.
We understand that members are experiencing a larger than normal number of blinks and power coming off and on. This is most likely due to the strong wind and temperatures we experienced yesterday. At this time, members without power remain our top priority. Our crews are working to take care of those areas first and then we can re-evaluate.
*URGENT – CALL TO MEMBERS*
We know it’s cold out there, and we’ll do everything we can to avoid power outages. Let’s work together to conserve energy today and put less pressure on the electric grid. We’re asking all BARC members to avoid setting thermostats higher than 68 degrees today to help avoid blinking lights. We’ll let you know when this energy conservation request is no longer necessary. Your co-operation is essential to maintain a stable electric grid during this extreme cold. Thank you!
