Teeing Off for a Cause
BARC Electric and BARC Connects Support Community Schools and Families Through Charity
In communities across BARC’s territory, one local charity is making a big difference. Unity4Kids is providing vital support to schools, students, and families in need in Alleghany, Bath and Rockbridge counties. Whether it’s through supplying jackets, shoes and supplies, helping with back-to-school needs, or supporting area families to fulfil Christmas wishes, this organization is committed to building stronger, healthier communities from the ground up.
This year, BARC Electric and BARC Connects were proud to support their mission by hosting a charity golf tournament fundraiser, bringing together community members, sponsors, and industry businesses for a day of fun, connection, and giving back. Held at Cliff View Golf Course in Falling Springs, the event saw 44 golfers teeing off for a good cause. Thanks to generous donations, sponsorships, and participant fees, we raised over $2,000 – 100% of which went directly to the charity’s programs.
Funds raised will support youth needs, Christmas gifts, and local family services, providing stability and care for those who need it most.
This year, Unity4Kids will be providing Christmas gifts to 150 kids at the Alleghany YMCA, supporting students in Rockbridge and Bath with hygiene and personal care items, and helping foster children and families through local schools and Social Services.
They will also be extending Christmas support to Bath County High School and other local schools, making the season brighter for our community’s children.
Tammy Reid, Unity4Kids director says “I appreciate BARC’s willingness to bring awareness of Unity4Kids to the public. We have been blessed to help so many!”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated on their time off, donated, or volunteered. This support is helping create a brighter future for countless families and children in our community. Together, we’re proving that when we come together with purpose, we can drive meaningful change.
