Outage Update – February 7, 2025

Update, as of 6:30 p.m., BARC crews are still getting to as many members as they can.

*We currently have 11 outages and 425 members still out.

Crews are hard at work as we speak. However, we could still have some members not restored until tomorrow. Outages have been very challenging to access due to trees making areas hard to access.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. We have several other electric utilities in the northwest region of Virginia facing the same struggles after this storm. The tree damage has made restoration efforts difficult for all. Our linemen have been solely dedicated to this storm since it moved it in and we thank them for their hard work.

Good Morning.

Crews worked late last night on several outages, including a larger transmission outage, that got us from 1,000 members out to around 600 members out.

They started at 6:30 a.m. this morning tackling the rest.

We are grateful to have Central Virginia Electric Cooperative by our side today helping out with restoration. Thank you to our cooperative neighbors!

Highland County is our hardest hit with several locations being a challenge to get to from tree damage. Please report your outages through the SmartHub app (available in your app store), your BARC portal or 1-800-846-2272 so we can make sure all outages are accounted for at this time.
