JANUARY 3, 2022 OUTAGE UPDATE as of 9:00 PM

Power has been restored to all but 34 consumers in our electric service area. At the height of the storm, we had about 1,400 electric consumers without power.

Our crews have been working since about 2:30 am this morning and they are now in the process of stopping restoration efforts for the evening for their safety. BARC crews and our contract crews with Lee have been out since the first outages began conducting power restoration efforts.

With temperatures dropping quickly, the loss of daylight and treacherous roads, we will not be able to restore everyone’s power this evening. PLEASE TAKE NECESSARY ACTION NOW if you are still without power and make alternate plans for the overnight. We have attempted to contact all consumers by phone where power will not be restored. Temperatures are expected to drop to about 14 degrees tonight.

We do not like outages any more than you, our consumers, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while repairs continue into Tuesday, January 4th. For those without power overnight, crews will be back out making repairs beginning around 7am. All of Virginia has been impacted by this storm, including our sister cooperatives, and we are all working as diligently as possible to get everyone back online.

Stay safe!
