BARC Electric Cooperative Announces Nationwide Search for New Chief Executive Officer

Millboro, VA — BARC Electric Cooperative (BARC) announces the launch of a nationwide search for a new Chief Executive Officer. The CEO will replace current President and CEO Mike Keyser, who will serve as the new CEO of the National Renewable Cooperative Organization. The BARC Board of Directors has retained CarterBaldwin Executive Search to assist in the identification of their next CEO.

Founded in 1938 following the Rural Electrification Act, BARC is a member-owned electric cooperative utility providing electric service to 13,000 residential, farm, and commercial accounts across five counties in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

BARC’s mission and commitment to improve the quality of life in the communities it serves has multiple layers. BARC ensures cooperative electric consumers have access to safe, affordable, and reliable power. In addition to electricity, BARC’s innovation has allowed the cooperative to extend services and programs beyond the power grid.
