Member Services Representative
BARC Electric Cooperative (BARC) is a customer-focused, innovative rural electric cooperative offering electric service, internet solutions, and solar programs. We are committed to delivering exceptional service and leveraging technology to enhance member experiences.
The Member Service Representative (MSR) is a full-time dynamic role that supports members through multiple channels, including in-person, phone, email, online chat, and AI-assisted platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service across all channels, including live chat and AI-assisted tools, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
- Handle onboarding, billing inquiries, credit issues, capital credit questions, and general membership support with a focus on one-call resolution.
- Promote service excellence through proactive engagement and creative problem-solving.
- Collaborate with other departments and support cross-functional projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve digital member experiences and assist in implementing new technologies.
Job Requirements:
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to both in-person and digital interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflicts and maintain professionalism.
- Comfort with AI-driven tools and online chat platforms; willingness to learn emerging technologies.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, formulas, graphs); experience with NISC or customer support software is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; additional education preferred.
- Prior customer service experience strongly preferred, especially in digital or tech-enabled environments.
Additional Information
