Board of Directors

One of the seven cooperative principles is democractic member control. Individuals who receive electric service from BARC Electric are more than just our customers, they are our members.

Incorporated in 1938, BARC Electric Cooperative now serves approximately 12,750 meters spanning the counties of Alleghany, Augusta, Bath, Highland and Rockbridge. It is a non-profit, tax-paying organization vitally interested in the residential, industrial, and commercial development of its service area. BARC is a member of Old Dominion Electric Cooperative, a Generation & Transmission cooperative based in Richmond, VA, which provides power for its member systems.
