BARC Connects is a customer-focused Internet, voice, and video service provider based in Lexington, VA. We are building a world-class fiber network and have an immediate need for an experienced sales coordinator to join our growing team. BARC Connects is owned by BARC Electric Cooperative, a not-for-profit electric cooperative whose sole mission is to improve the quality of life in the community it serves. 

The sales coordinator will be responsible for generating residential and commercial sales within the areas that BARC Connects offers service. This position will also generate quotes and service contracts for both existing and new customers. 

The sales coordinator will be asked to: 

1. Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory and generate new business 

2. Make telephone calls, door-to-door marketing, in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers. Represent BARC Connects at community events

3. Develop clear and effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers 

4. Address any presales concerns or issues with prospective customers 

5. Analyzes the territory and market potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customer value to the organization 

6. Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services 

7. Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual sales activity 

8. Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends 

9. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies 

10. Perform all other duties as assigned 

Education: 

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or related field required 

Experience: 

• 2 or more years of previous sales experience having worked for a service provider or IT company preferred

• Must have strong verbal and writing skills to provide effective customer presentations, written proposals/contracts and excellent customer service 

• Must have a basic computer skills 

• Must meet sales goals while providing accurate and timely reporting information to management 

• Must be able to work in fast paced environment 

Additional Information: 

• Must be in good physical condition 

• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing 

• Must possess valid driver’s license 

• Must have a demonstrated history of operating company vehicles safely 

• May be required to work after normal business hours to attend community events 

• Good interpersonal skills as this position will regularly interface with both residential and commercial customers as well as other BARC Connects personnel for new installs and problem resolution
