24-May-2018May 2018 Construction Update

Our crews are happy to see the sun again after the seemingly endless amount of rainfall we’ve received lately. While the rain has impaired our ability to pick up the construction pace on our fiber project, overall, BARC Connects remains on schedule for phase 1 of our fiber build. Right now, we’re completing all installations in the Kerr’s Creek, Bustleburg and Rockbridge Baths areas, then we will move north towards Raphine.

Estimated timeline for service availability in 2018/2019:

Plans are in the works to bring in additional resources to quicken the pace of construction, and we’re hoping we can provide some good news on the project schedule in the coming months. Stay tuned to future updates!

We have been thrilled with the excitement and support of the community to see broadband services coming to life in phase 1 of our project. Everyone here is very eager to get everyone connected. Stay up to date on our progress by visiting BARC Connects News or follow us on Facebook.

And… we’ve been expanding our eligible service area! Over 200 additional customers have been added in the Poplar Hill, Jacob’s Ladder, Zollman’s Pavilion, and Possum Hollow areas. Just recently, almost 100 additional customers were added along Raphine Road all the way to Wade’s Mill! Please share this with folks who live in those areas. Customers can check their eligibility for fiber service by entering their address at customer signup portal . If the address auto-populates in our customer portal it means it’s eligible for fiber service!

Act now… customers who sign up for service will receive a free fiber service drop to their home. The only requirements are that customers commit to a two-year contract and pay a $100 fee towards the in-home installation of their fiber service.
