05-Jul-2018July 2018 Construction Update

We hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July! Though the summer sun is beginning to sizzle, our crews are keeping pace with construction on the fiber build and customers continue to get connected with fiber service every week. Looking ahead to the rest of this month, the following areas will be released to the construction crews to begin work:

If you reside in these three areas and have not yet signed up, we strongly encourage you to sign up now, or while construction is occurring. Connecting everyone who wants service while we’re working in an area is more efficient and also causes less of a physical impact on yards and fields. Please keep in mind that, before we can connect a home, the fiber construction crews must complete the main-line and lateral fiber, and then splice all the fibers together. A special “drop crew” follows behind to build the individual service drops to the exterior of your home. Finally, your in-home install for your high-speed Internet, Television, and Unlimited Telephone services is scheduled by our customer service team. From start to finish, this process takes several weeks.

Our estimated timeline for service availability for 2018/19 remains the same:

Customers can check their eligibility for fiber service by entering their address at shop.barcconnects.net. If the address auto-populates in our customer portal it means it’s eligible for fiber service!

Act now… customers who sign up for service will receive a free fiber service drop to their home. The only requirements are that customers commit to a two-year contract and pay a $100 fee towards the in-home installation of their fiber service.
