Millboro, VA – As of 5:00 pm Thursday, February 21st, all known power outages caused by Winter Storm Petra moving through the BARC service area have been restored. BARC’s service area experienced 53 outages from the winter weather event impacting 2,804 members.
BARC appreciates the patience and support provided by members during this event and extended outage period.
BARC wishes to thank Community Electric Cooperative in Windsor, Virginia and PowerSecure for assisting with power restoration to members.
The BARC service area is forecasted to experience continued rain over the weekend and strong winds with gusts up to 50 mph Sunday, February 24th through Monday, February 25th. The combination of high winds and saturated ground may cause additional power outages. Members should be prepared for the possibility of power outages from this event and report any outages to BARC by calling 800-846-2272, using the BARC mobile app or using the online Customer Portal.
BARC reminds everyone if a down power line is spotted, to stay away and report it immediately. Downed power lines should be considered energized and dangerous.
